Questions & answers

Home addition FAQs

How much does a home addition cost?

Additions typically run $50,000–$200,000+ depending on size, complexity, and what's inside (a bathroom or kitchen raises the number). A bump-out costs far less than a full second story. Your proposal is itemized and fixed before we break ground, and financing is available.

How long does an addition take?

Most additions take 2–4 months of construction, with design and permitting adding lead time before that. You'll have the full milestone schedule in writing before work starts — and weekly updates while it's underway.

Do we have to move out during construction?

Usually not. We build the addition's shell from the outside and open the wall into your home as late in the project as possible, so your living space stays sealed, secure, and livable for most of the build.

Will an addition add value to my home?

A well-designed addition that matches the home typically returns strongly at resale — awkward, obviously-bolted-on ones don't. Seamless matching of rooflines, siding, and proportions is exactly what we specialize in.
